Reflexology for Menopause

Fiona Biggs holding her Reflexology for Menopause qualification

Gentle Support During Menopause

Reflexology can be a gentle and supportive therapy during perimenopause, helping the body navigate hormonal change while promoting relaxation and balance. By working on specific reflex points on the feet, reflexology aims to support the nervous and endocrine systems, helping to ease both physical and emotional symptoms associated with this stage of life.

I have received specialist training in Reflexology for Menopause with Sally Earlam, one of the UK's leading practitioners and educators in this field. Treatments are always tailored to you as an individual, recognising that every woman's menopausal experience is different.

What to Expect

1

Consultation

During your first session, we'll begin with a short consultation to discuss your health, lifestyle, and any specific concerns. This helps tailor the treatment to your individual needs.

2

Treatment

Sessions are deeply relaxing and focus on supporting your overall wellbeing, rather than treating individual symptoms in isolation. I work on specific reflex points on your feet to support the nervous and endocrine systems.

3

Aftercare

Many clients choose to have regular sessions during menopause as part of their ongoing self-care, helping them feel calmer, more balanced, and better supported through this transition.

After Your Session

Some clients may experience a mild "healing response" after reflexology, which can include temporary effects such as:

  • Light-headedness or mild headache
  • Fatigue or increased need to rest
  • Emotional release, such as feeling tearful or introspective

These responses are usually short-lived and are a natural part of the body rebalancing. To support your wellbeing after a session, it's recommended to drink plenty of water, rest if needed, and allow yourself time to fully enjoy the calming benefits of your treatment.

Important Information

Reflexology is gentle and non-invasive but may not be suitable if you have:

  • Recent foot/ankle injuries or open wounds
  • Severe fungal infections, verrucas, or contagious foot conditions
  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or history of blood clots
  • First trimester of pregnancy (unless advised otherwise)
  • Fever, acute infection, or feeling generally unwell

If you are unsure whether reflexology is suitable for you, please feel free to get in touch to discuss your individual situation before booking.
